Bajiprahu Deshpande Samadhi :On 12th of July, 1660 the Great Shivaji Maharaj had escaped from Siddhi Jouhar’s trap with the help of his great people. Chh. Shivaji Maharaja was hiding on Panhala more than three months and he escaped on this day to Vishalgad. Few days before on this historical escaped, Chh. Shivaji Maharaj had told Siddhi Jouhar that he is going to surrender and so, Siddhi Jouhar became a bit
relaxed but did not decrease his force of soldiers. That time he escaped through two Palanquins to a great distance from Panhala. Siddhi Jouhar then caught one of the palanquins of Shiva Kashid and thought it to be Shivaji Maharaj because it looked like Shivaji Maharaj’s Palanquin. But, Shiva Kashid irritated Siddhi Jouhar very much and wasted his time so that Shivaji a reaches far. On the way, again Siddhi’s soldiers come back and try to arrest Chh. Shivaji Maharaja. On that time Baji Prabhu Deshpande fight bravely and help to reach Shivaji to Fort Vishalgad. Both, Shiva Kashid and Baji Prabhu Deshpande knew that they may die on that day to help The great Shivaji Maharaja, but did not utter a word and helped him in such a way that the Great and historical Shivaji’s escaped. So, this great day of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja’s remembrance is been celebrated and a Trek is been organized. This Trek is of two days where people enjoy trekking on the way of Shivaji Maharaja’s escape through Panhalagad to Pavankhind. This tough route includes various forests, hills, valleys from where the Great Shivaji had travelled and the followers now enjoy trekking through the same route. The people here enjoy a great experience of adventure as well as they observe wildlife and they get to see how the Great Shivaji escaped through hardships and hurdles and they get a different experience overall
