Ajara

Ajara is situated on the Kolhapur- Amboli road on the banks of River Chitra and River Hiranyakeshi. It is evergreen wide forest area. Ajara is the birthplace of late Shree Shivajirao Sawant, who wrote some of the famous novels like Chhava, Yugandhar, Mrutunjaya and many more. Large number of tourist are attracted to Ambolli hill station and Ramtirth waterfall placed in Ajara. Ajara is surrounded by dense tropical forests of Sahyadri, is well known for heavy rainfall and the production of Ghansal rice.

Sirsingi

This is a one of most famous sacred grove in Kolhapur. There is a one of the big tree in Kolhapur spread among 1.5 acre area.

Ramtirth

Ramtirth is a scenic picnic spots in Ajara Taluka, with ancient and historical temples, a beautiful river view, old coffee plantation and an orchard, which lend a quaint charm to this place. There is a historical belief that the Lord Rama used to stay here during the time of incarnation. Based on all these reasons, the Hindus believe that Ramtirth is one of the most sacred places among all the devotional places in our country. Scenic beauty and flowing waterfall nearby the temple attracts many filmmakers for film shooting.
